KnowledgePlex: News: Social & Comprehensive Development
Website: www.knowledgeplex.org
Increasingly, community development programs are expanding to include issues that are not directly related to housing, but that add to the quality of life and safety of a community. Sometimes these programs are managed in conjunction with housing and economic development programs or in partnership with the organizations sponsoring housing and economic efforts. At other times, these "social" improvements are undertaken independent of other community improvement programs. When combined with housing and economic development efforts, these programs - such as community safety, child care and education, and health care - are labeled as "comprehensive community improvement" programs. |
